Hi! I just
wanna share my thoughts over one of the blessings, a relation that makes our
lives brighter, gives us memories to assure us that we really lived our time.
It is the Friendship.
I know many
girls who say, “Friends are just a mean to kill your time. Nothing more!” There
are many guys who say, “You can’t trust anyone. Once you put your guards down,
your so called friend would throw you off balance to get what he really wants.”
I don’t feel like arguing with them. Yup, they might have some terrible
experiences. I agree that everyone can’t be ideal friend. But it is not right
to question the whole existence of this beautiful bonding based on few bad
experiences.
I may just
blurt out some quotes from famous poems or novel to describe this relationship,
but let me stick to reality. Still, I feel like defending this amazing
relationship. A friend is more than just a shoulder to cry or a clown to cheer
you or a bond to bail you out of trouble; it is the source of a vital energy.
This energy may give you hope when you feel like “Oh crap! I made a blunder
again!” This energy may give you strength to carry on before you succumb to the
feeling “I can’t do it. I am not made for it!” This energy neutralizes the dark
energy so that you don’t think “I am nothing! No one needs me! None love me!” Aren’t
those feelings familiar? I bet those are! If you ever had those feelings and
managed to recover as well, I guess you already know what a friend can do, no
need to read my whole crappy article to learn things you already know.
Friendship drew her out of shell:
I know a
girl who couldn't talk to people. She was s timid, shy girl who imprisoned
herself in her limited world. Restrictions, insecurity etc where squeezing her
more and more inside a sphere. She could see others from inside and other could
see her too. But she couldn't reach out to anyone neither
anyone could reach her. One day, she met someone on Facebook. He cracked some jokes and she smiled. He made up some funny incident stories and she smiled more. Then, he asked, “So, tell me,what do you like?” She was smiling, so unconsciously she blurted out her imagination, her weird fantasies as she wasn’t feeling insecure there for some reason. First time she talked her heart out. Gradually she opened up like a blossom blooms into a flower. Then that flower drew attention of other. Somewhere between in this whole process the wall of that sphere had dissolved into air and she could reach out to others.

Friend shared the burden:
I know a
teen who was depressed as he couldn't figure out what he would do in his life.
Whatever he thought to do in future didn’t seem to him good enough. Yes, he was
ambitious. But he was falling apart. But there was a friend who believed in
him. He participated in whatever he tried. They failed together, they succeed
together, they cheered together and they also cursed the world for being so
hard on them together. But they shared the load throughout hence both managed
to pull through.
Friend made her live again:
I know a
girl who couldn't sleep. She had chased a ghost for many years in the name of
love. And pieces of shattered reality were pricking in her eyes, hence she
couldn't sleep. Then, someone said, “You are taking to hard on you!” She get
annoyed. They quarreled. She said, “Put yourself in my shoes. Then you wouldn't
do those big talks.” He said, “Whatever! There are hundred peoples in this
world to make up for moron who didn't care.” She asked, “Ya ya! Tell me one
name.” He really told her many names who had rooted for her, who had
acknowledged her, who had tried to cheer her up. She realized something and
said, “Hey! No worries! I won’t let you guys down. I am a hotty. I will seduce
a hunk soon.” They smiled together on it.
Friends who touched the life:
I know a
guy who realized his potential because of friends who were rooting for him. I
know college girl who does a part time job, works whole day to keep her dreams
alive. And that energy I was talking about earlier keeps her going. Well! I
don’t need a fancy quote from a novel or poem to describe friendship. Google
and you would find many, so spare me that extra typing effort. But all I can
say, “A true friend would help you shine more brightly.”
But still,
few words of caution for all. There are few opportunists who aren’t there to be
friend. They are there as long as you are putting everything to maintain the
bond. Friendship isn’t a business agreement; give-and-take isn’t applicable
here. I see it in kids. A little boy says, “Wanna play at my place. My dad
would order pizza. We would share.” Other little boy says, “Sure! I will bring
some cookies.” Then, they smile selflessly to each other. I have seen it in
grown up peoples too. I have seen friends sharing feelings, I have seen friends
achieving things together and also screwing up things together. Please keep the
Maths out, let your heart take over. After all, we are emotional beings and our
emotions make us special. Let us just live few bring emotions, let us live in
few memorable moments and let make our moments memories with friends whom we
cherish.
With this I
am signing off,
Your host
and pal
Saphyaire
